Indeed. He doesn't want to bring up, for just one teeny-tiny example, his father's SAVAK (tutored by the CIA) torturing a prisoner's 8-year old son to make the father talk.

And then there is the lovely little example from my own experience here in central Illinois.

There were many Iranian students here at ISU before the revolution, and I knew and worked with many of them. Ther was this one really revolutionary fellow, who sat in my living room a number of times, talking away about his marxist-leninist politics.

Ahem. It turned out he was a SAVAK agent. I imagine there were duplicates of him at most universities where there was a large Iranian student enrollment.
