Ah. You touch a very sore point here. American Jews by a large did not
give enough of a shit about their east european cousins to even agitate
on behalf of their being allowed to immigrate into the U.S. during the
Nazi era.
You see, the general feeling was that the U.S. Jews were managing to rise in the esteem of the Goyim, so the last thing they needed were for their unwashed, ghettoized cousins to arrive and remind everyone about THAT!
So, the immigration quotas were not relaxed on behalf of the jews, and most died in the ovens. Nor were they much after WWII. That's one reason for U.S. Jews support for the Zionist state: it was a fitting place for the Jews of eastern europe. After 73, of course, it got even better than that.
