Discovery Channel Asia is showing, in June, an interview with film
director Chen Kaige -- Farewell my concubine, Together, Emperor and
the Assasin, etc. -- interspliced with scenes from his films which,
apparently, are in part inspired by his own life experiences,
including the Cultural Revolution. Plenty of platitudes, but an
interesting reflection, through the prism of one man, of the past 50
years of Chinese history.
