Nobody (at least nobody with any level of maturity who has been around from before the AOL-types came on) recommends "bottom posting". The preferred/recommended format is to do dialogue-style interleaved posting: inline replies.

Misattribution has nothing to do with top or bottom posting, but is merely a pointer to the use of bad software or incomplete training.

I have offered in the past to help list members with computing/software issues, including migrating to a more compliant mailreader like Mozilla Thunderbird. This offer includes real-time support (ping me for my IM info). The offer remains open.
