TRIPOLI: Libya and France signed an agreement on Wednesday for the use of nuclear energy in the fields of agriculture and health.
Libya's Secretary for Manpower and Training Maatug Mohamed Maatug signed for the North African nation. Mr. Maatug is in charge of Libya's nuclear file. Alain Bugat, head of France's Atomic Energy Commission, signed the deal on behalf of the French side at a ceremony held in the Libyan capital Tripoli. The deal is part of France's long-running push to market its nuclear technology amid a shift back toward nuclear energy in countries across the world.
