Krugman is a smart guy who oozes prestige and who is mostly an orthodox economist. If he's saying these things, we should give thanks.

Not the last time I checked. I may not live in your world, but I'm pretty well oriented in time and space. I don't quote the transitional program, and I've never spoken fondly of competitive general equilibrium either.
