Cargill Vietnam, a US agriculture company, on Mar. 22 began building an animal feed mill in the Mekong delta province of Long An, bringing to six its total factories in Viet Nam.
The mill, which will be built at a cost of 12 million USD, is designed to have an annual capacity of 150,000 tonnes. It will help Cargill Vietnam to increase its animal feed processing capacity in Viet Nam to more than 700,000 tonnes a year.
Cargill Vietnam General Director Scott Ainslie said that Viet Nam is a promising market for animal feed and that his company plans to build two or three more factories in the country till 2010.
Cargill Vietnam currently employs 400 workers and markets more than 100 animal feed categories. Its strategic products are pig feeds of Right Track Red, Right Track Gold, Superbloom, Profit Track and Prosow trademarks and fish feed of Aquaxcel trademark. Alongside animal feed production, the company involves in farm produce export, and animal meat and fertiliser import.
