I've been meaning to float this for a while, a music question, and John's post prompts me to give it a shot. This is a question for music fans who lived in the DC area in the early to mid-1990s. Does anyone know whatever happened to a coupla guys who called the Pheromones? They specialized in extremely witty songs in an edgy folk-pop style, with a radical message. Their best stuff: "Dance of the Young Republicans", "Where's the Service?," "Almost Late is Right on Time," and the immortal "Cicada Serenade" -- all from the album "So Far, So What?"
I saw them live once, and thought they were terrific--funny, and very good musicians. I also thought they had a bright future ahead of them, which shows you what I know. They appear to have dropped off the earth. Anyone know what happened to them, are they still doing music etc etc.
Thanks in advance.
Gary

I'm not in the habit of making music recommendations on this list but if you are a Billy Bragg fan and are having reservations concerning the purchase of his new Vol. 1 boxed set you can rest assured it is worth every penny. Even if you have the original 4 CD's in this set the bonus material absolutely kicks ass. The bonus material also comprises more than 1/2 of this compilation. This set reminds me why it wasn't hyperbole to refer to Bragg as a One-Man-Clash. The concert footage from the 80's on the two bonusDVD's is priceless if you're a fan. I took the day off to enjoy several gin and tonics and this boxed set uninterrupted.
