The Marines morphing into the SS is no surprise since Reichsführer Rumsfeld 
himself resembles a George Grosz caricature these days.  Look at the 
horrifying death's-head rictus that Rumsfeld displays at the end of this 
news clip, where he takes issue with Maureen Dowd's claim that he's been 
marginalized in the administration and is treated as "an eccentric old uncle 
who's ignored":
