Hmmm. China signed a Free Trade Agreement with the 10 ASEAN nations (Indochina, Malaysia, S'pore, Indonesia, Phillipines, Brunei) a year or two back, though it will take 10 years for gradual implementation.

Right after they did that, they suggested a 10+3 deal, ASEAN plus China, Japan and South Korea. Negotiations for that have started.

Meanwhile there have been news stories of Australia and NZ joining the party, agreements between Japan and some ASEAN nations, I'm not sure what else.

If this keeps going, it will make Europe and NAFTA look tiny.
