Jury trials
The rest of Europe uses juries very differently. The French use them only for the most serious crimes, where 3 judges and 9 jurors make decisions together. Holland uses only professional judges and Italy uses tribunals involving 3 judges at a time. Germany, Austria, France, Finland and Sweden use mixed tribunals of a professional judge and a number of laymen.
