Hmm, Kansas sounds like more fun than I'd assumed.

Pointless Trivia Dept.: Reactionary poet Robert Frost was always irritated by what he considered Carl Sandburg's man-of-the-people affectations -- not the least of which was a propensity for strumming his "geetar" at public gatherings. ("Geetar" is Frost's locution -- it's not clear whether this is how Sandburg actually pronounced the word or simply Frost's contempt for the instrument.)

Carl

"I am a loafer and a writer and would much rather loaf and write, and pick a guitar with the proper vags, than to deliver spoken exhortations before any honorable bodies wheresoever."

-- Carl Sandburg
