Yup, esp, "16 Days, " by Whiskeytown. (I consider punk-countryish band Green On Red, alt. country, one of thir best songs w/16 in the lyrics, "Sixteen Ways, " from the intro. their lead singer gave on a bootleg I have of a European tour is about police murders. http://www.greenonred.net/ )

Lee Ranaldo of Sonic Youth and patti smith and Bob Mould still consider Bob kewl...You should download his, "Time Out of Mind."
