The prohibition of affirmative action in Michigan, where the U-M fought tooth and naith to preserve that polict in higher education and won a very sighificant victory, is a big blow. Plus the gay marriage bans.

Btw, big business likes affirmative action, which was made national policy by Richard Nixon. The revulsion against it is populist, not elite.
