about 10% of folks self-identify as *independent independent* (meaning they claim to be leaning towards neither of 2 major parties, about 25% of folks self-identify as moderate (so-called middle of the road)...

including leaners, almost 50% self-identifies democratic, about 40% republican, i guess there are still some old south dems but hard to believe there are too many left, and percentage of christian evangelicals self-identified as dem is higher than one might assume given media take (and recent voting pattern)... mh
