Of these groups, the only ones who are marrying gays and lesbians in Massachusetts are the Episcopal Church, the United Church of Christ, and the Unitarian Universalists. (The Union of Reform Judaism is, as well, and some Quaker meetings might be, too.) The Episcopal Church really deserves an asterisk here, because many diocese, both in the US and abroad, are scandalized by how friendly the Massachusetts diocese is to gays and lesbians.

The Presbyterians and Methodists, the historically Black churches, and the pro-Latino Catholics are hardly fulfilling any sort of vanguard role here.
