I don't think the people in the Kremlin think in terms of "capitalism," "socialism," "market economy" or whatever. They are pragmatists. If it works to increase Russia's global standing, project power abroad, strengthen the state, and/or raise general living standards, they'll go for it. They don't care if a business is state-owned or privately owned, as long as they do what they're told. ;)
