NEW YORK, Nov 20 (Reuters) - DuPont Co. (DD.N: Quote, Profile, Research), the No. 2 chemicals maker in the U.S., said on Monday that it plans to double capacity at its Electronic Materials facility in China over the next two years.
Wilmington, Delaware-based DuPont said it will increase capacity at the Electronic Materials facility based in Dongguan to meet with rising demand both globally and within China.
"This is part of the company's plan to double its China investment by 2010," said Douglas Muzyka, president of DuPont Greater China.
Shares of DuPont, a component of the Dow Jones Industrial Average, rose 1.6 percent to $48.02 in morning trading on the New York Stock Exchange.
