The moments I was thinking about was the strange sense of communal unconscious developed through the use of the drug and the figure of the Weaver more than anything else (although the slake moths fall into that as well) I definitely agree with you about the Iron Council. It loses the richness that Perdido Street Station exhibits. On the other hand, I thought the Scar was really enjoyable.
