in any event, as richard russell, herman talmadge, james eastland,
howard smith, sam ervin, strom thurmond, spessard holland, and other
dixiecrats said to jfk: you got a choice,
tax bill or civil rights bill, what's it gonna be... no surprise which
option the 'second emancipator' chose... mh
