Oh yes! I totally enjoyed that series. In fact, I enjoyed the Royals season much more than I should have. I listened to most of their games this year, but didn't attend any. The Royals were interesting this year in a way that .500 teams aren't. They got off to a horrible start, which sunk them into the sub-basement. Then they played .500 ball from mid-June to the end of the season. The team had some spectacular meltdowns, but they also played well against some good teams. Along the way they picked up a new general manager and it looks like the losing multi-year streak my be over.

I think I enjoy the Royals in part because I've been alienated from baseball since the early 90s. The strike sucked, but I'm more mad at baseball for it's stupid decision to cheat in favor of more offense. Juiced players, smaller parks and expansion have thrown the game out of whack. I hate home run ball. I want to see better pitching and the running game.

So baseball lost me and I took up soccer and hockey.

Go Mets!

Chuck
