Humans are very imitative. Imitation is the fundamental action of social animals. When bees convey information through their dances, they are doing some sort of physical recapitulation (now meta-recapitulation) of the physical process of flying to the nectar source they have found.
Art suggests movement or posturing that we feel to be a human recapitulation of something, but, as observers, we don't know what. It can be a recapitulation of something impossible to recapitulate. It is the bee dance of one individual human trying to communicate his individual experience to another. We are provoked into thinking but not necessarily understanding.
