Yoshie: On the same list, we also find that the USA (not in Iraq) has two in jail:

United States (2) 20 September 2006 - Josh Wolf, blogger and journalist 15 December 2001 - Sami Al-Haj, Al-Jazeera

Shouldn't Americans be focusing on these two first and foremost?

CB: On a related issue, how do "they" develop a lack of freedom index for countries like the U.S. where the ruling class institutions are big corporations and the media is dominated by big corporations ? How do they factor in lack of independence from corporate control ? Journalists aren't killed , they just lose their jobs, which is just as effective in controlling mass information flow.

Does RSF have a count of how many reporters lose their jobs in the U.S. ?
