The NY Times homepage right now offers a telling detail re the typical 
priorities of US MSM; i.e., the middle column features a prominent combined 
headline and lead reading:  "3rd Iraq Death Has One Town Shaken to Core -- 
For an Ulster County, N.Y., town, the loss of a third son in Iraq went 
beyond pain and grief."  Right below this -- in much smaller type -- is a 
headline-only that reads:  "Iraqi Dead May Total 600,000, Study Says"
