Gas prices here in Kansas City have jumped an average of 15 cents in the past week, putting the price for the cheapest grade at over $2.00.

If this trend is happening elsewhere, it may neutralize Rove's "Ocotber Surprise," which is looking like a dud according to news outlets today. Rove is reportedly planning to spend $100 million over the next three weeks.
