Oy vey. Typical leftist killjoy attitude. Any talk about issues not deemed of VITAL GLOBAL IMPORTANCE are shouted down by sanctimonious leftistw who are of course, truly interested in these other IMPORTANT ISSUES.

Fuck that!

This is a discussion list where people talk about a variety of things. If you don't find a thread interesting, you can tune it out, like I do with many threads here.

As for scolding of us who are engaged in this thread, let me answer your points personally and directly:

* I've been to numerous anti-war protests. I've risked arrest at some and have organized others. I protested the first phase of this war, back in 1991. I protested Clinton's sanctions against Iraq and his other terrorst acts. Every day I post news and announcements about anti-war protests around the world. I've been part of numerous anti-war groups. * I've been to protests against Israeli policies and have done online support work for the Palestinians. * I've done quite a bit to throw a monkey-wrench in the gears of globalization. I've helped organize several anti-globalization protests and convergences. I've spent hundreds of hours online documenting and promoting the anti-globalization movement. I've sacrificed my career for anti-globalization work and my well-being by making myself a target of police spying and violence. * I have participated in anti-police brutality protests. I've helped with Cop Watches and have helped publish and promote materials about civil rights and Cop Watches. The Infoshop Cop Watch pamphlet has been read by thousands of people. * I've been an anti-border activist for many years, when it wasn'tan issue. I attended the pro-immigrant rally here last Spring, when most of the local progressive crowd couldn't be bothered to evven attend a peaceful rally. * I've been an anti-prison activist for many years. I've done support work for numerous people, both in prison and those arrested after protests. I've risked arrest at protests for Mumia and Leonard Peltier. I currently have a stack of dozens of letters from prisoners who want free subscriptions to our magazine.

So can I participate in a discussion about suburbia? Can I take a few minutes from busy activist schedule to talk about something being discussed in the LBO online bar?

Chuck
