I have been to Historical Materialism in Hudson NY. What is happening in these decaying and reviving Hudson River towns is just fascinating, in some sense part of the process of exurbanization, driven in part by high rents in NYC, fear of 9/11. So the arts are moving to these places. Must be driving up rents. Nice Mexican restaurant, too. Doubtless MIchael will be able to name it, maybe even provide us with a menu.
To the west, something similar in Narrowsburg and Colacalon (?) NY, along the Delaware River. And some do the long commute to NYC.
