only about 35% of conn registered voters are democrats, lamont appears to have held on to much of that group throughout general election campaign...

45% of state registrants are 'unaffiliated' and largest 'bloc' among this group has long shown itself to be 'centrist', lieberman is getting - by far - the largest percentage of these voters...

republicans constitute only about 20% of conn registered voters, most of them are going for lieberman...

as i said in the primary's immediate aftermat, unusually high turnout was fueled not by lamont voters but by centrists who switched from 'unaffiliated' to democrat in order to vote for lieberman, their presence made outcome closer than it would have been in more conventional circumstance of low primary turnout comprised of activist/attentive party wing voters... mh
