[lbo-talk] Feminism and the False Memory Syndrome

I have been reading all these threads about false memories and child sexual abuse. I have been staying out of the on-line discussion because my own personal involvement in such cases prevents me from posting in a manner that would be free enough of that personal involvement to be of much use to anyone. My emotions tend to hinder clear thinking and oddly (to me) the issue is too painful personally for me to want to participate in a long term discussion with know-it-all know-nothings like Jesse. Normally I enjoy a challenge.

That said I wish to thank Miles, Stephen, James (whom I have disagreed with on so much in the past) and especially Yoshie for being so eminently reasonable in a discussion that has generally been anything but reasonable. A person has to put up with a very high level of personal insults when taking the position these people have. I have no idea why this should be so but sadly it is. I'll second Jim Farmelant's comment that they are really the voice of reason in this discussion.

Maybe I've ignored similar threads in the past but this exchange has really surprised me.

John Thornton
