nah. although she did play a vanna white-type character in an ostensibly saucy midnight stage production in sarasota years ago...
she's an extremely ambitious self-centered person who parlayed the trust fund from her granddaddy's (racist citrus magnate ben hill griffin for whom the university of florida football stadium is named) wealth into a series of *being able to be the right person at the right time* situations...
she is good example of how even in republican-dominated florida politics someone identified with the most rightist elements (and in her case sooper-dooper name recognition) can win at the local/state legislative/congressioal district level but not state-wide (jeb bush's 1998 gov campaign was test for his older brother in 2000: campaign as a moderate, govern as a conservative)...
state republican party and bush white house rebuffed her desire to run for senate in 2004 (after serving one 2 year house term) in favor of mel martinez and they tried to push her aside this time but she was going to run hell or high water, her campaign been part comedy of errors, part mishap after mishap, part unethical (perhaps illegal) activities... mh
