PARIS, July 26 (Reuters) - Oil major Total SA (TOTF.PA: Quote, Profile, Research) has discovered oil in block NC 191 in southwestern Libya, about 800 kilometres south of the capital Tripoli, the French company said on Wednesday.
This is the first oil find in the block which was awarded to Total in March 2001, it said in a statement.
Drilled to a depth of 1,735 metres, the well tested at 675 barrels of oil per day. The discovery and the potential of the remainder of the block are being appraised.
