Yes, Rosie is sometimes difficult to take, and she is as family values as
Oprah -- except that she is gay!. But the dynamics of this important program
have changed radically. The most positive affect is the near cornering and
near silencing of the despicable Elizabeth Hasselblock (?), whose thing is
to be young, attractive, pro-Bush, anti-abortion, etc. She is just being
ignored, which is all to the good. I hope she ends up in the same place that
Star ended up in. Between Rosie and Joy Behar, the show has moved in
important critical directions, and even Baba Wawa seems to be under pressure
to be a little critical of Bush.

So this isn't the achievement of socialism, the dawning of the new world,
etc. But it's a good step, until authority comes down on them. A real
alternative to Oprah's social conservatism.
