[lbo-talk] IAEA: U.S. Report on Iran "Outrageous and Dishonest"

This is very significant and definitively proves that the "nuclear crisis" we've heard so much about via the media is a Washington conjured phantom.

Of course, facts won't silence those who prefer hyperventilation; Americans and Brits can expect a continued stream of dark rumors and dire warnings from "experts" of impending disaster.

Perhaps the most important potential result of the IAEA report is its preemptive de-legitimization of US aggression against Iran.

The Bush administration's (almost explicit) argument is that it must take drastic action to save the world from the threat of a nuclear armed "sponsor of terrorism."

The IAEA brutally pulls the rug out from under that un-truth.

This may not deter Washington from folly but it will make the results of unprovoked violence even more disastrous for the US' power-enforced relationships than they might have been.

No doubt, a smear campaign against the IAEA is ramping up to full steam.
