Over the last century there have been a number of exemplary military occupations. There was the u.s. army in the Philippines a century ago. There was the British army in Iraq in the 1920s. There was the Japanese Army in China. There was the German army in Poland. There is the Israeli army in Gaza. The differences among these armies is only to be measured in terms of the total populations they terrorized. In relative terms the Israeli army is one of the worst of these.
