How could they manipulate the price of crude oil? The market is huge, with tons of non-American players. Must be those same brilliant traders who shorted airline stocks before 9/11.

Doug ^^^^^ CB: I haven't followed all the nutty claims. Were there traders who shorted ariline stock before 9/11 ?

However, the current price drop is less attributable to a thingwithnoname because there's no big political event like 9/11 that could be claimed to trigger it.

What about big plays by individuals ? Was it Soros who stuck up the British financiers ? Perhaps that is cunning in anticipating a change of price, not causing a change of price ?

Are all the players in the crude oil market equal ? There aren't any "leaders" or monopolists ?
