[lbo-talk] chavez, bush, the devil and jon stewart

Not that this is going to take this debate in a more elevated direction, but I might as well point this out: I very much come out of the contemporary anarchist movement, although I would only fit a very loose definition of one these days (I jokingly describe myself as 'ethnically anarchist', but not politically). And I can tell you one thing almost all anarchists I know have unity on: that Chuck0 does not represent their ideology. I don't want to start a whole thing but let's just say that saying he's not well regarded would be an extreme understatement.

And as long as we're talking about stewart, chavez and humor, I wanna say that altho john stewart's politics are not ours, he's very funny, even when skewering those we are in solidarity with. Perhaps most so then, because as all of us who've spent a life on the left can agree, the left is the political grouping most ripe for fun-poking. We all know that altho it's funny to crack on Bush, a mere hour spent at a sectarian meeting in berkeley yields material you just can't invent. If only John Stewart had some footage of Chuck0 to bust on (or, hey, me for that matter), we'd be crying tears of laughter at the likely jokes about the 'simpsons comic-book store-guy of anarchy'.
