Below is the email that's bouncing all over SEIU this week to vote a Houston janitor leader as Glamor's Woman of the Year.

The least distasteful vote I'll get to cast all year, for sure!
Jim
-------------------

Don't know if you heard, but one of the janitor leaders here in Houston has
been nominated for Glamour Magazine's Woman of the Year. Her name is
Ercilia Sandoval. She is a janitor here in Houston - making $5.25 per hour
with no health insurance. She came her from El Salvador and has two young
girls - Jennifer and Genesis. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in the
spring and could not get treatment or care because she did not have health
insurance. Even as she goes through her chemo she is still fighting (and
working, God bless her). She is a member of the bargaining committee and
attends all the events even as her health worsens.

My special ask is that you vote for her for Woman Of The Year and ask your
friends and family to do the same. Here is the link...

http://www.glamour.com/news/woty/slideshows/2006/10/09/womanofyouryear
