<P>which I suppose isn't too bad as long as we are dealing with tensors that only have subscripts but what happens when we have tensors with superscripts, I suppose you could write one like this:&nbsp;&nbsp; T^(ij).&nbsp; Of course, tensors can have both subscripts and superscripts, such as with Christoffel tensors.&nbsp; I would think that those would prove to be rather difficult indeed to render in ASCII in way that woud be legible to the reader.&nbsp; Sir Isaac, of course, did not have to worry about such things.</P>
