It's coming: I rode Eurostar Paris-London recently and it has airline-style security (and delays). I hopped on a Paris-Lyon TGV two years ago with 30 seconds to go before (scheduled and actual) departure time and we were moving before I got to my seat, but you can't do that on Eurostar: arrive an hour before scheduled departure to make sure you get through security okay.
