absolutely. it's just when it gets one-sided with the assumption, far more common, that ethnographic research such as in-depth interviews with 40 people or pariticpant-observation studies of a group over time are worthless. In the social science community, it's far more common to make the assumption that the only good, *generalizable* research is the hypothetical-deductive model, upon which statistical survey research with its sampling techniques are based.
