Perhaps you don't understand politics in Egypt, or what I have posted here (from the Al-Ahram Weekly article to my own notes), but the Brothers and their socialist allies in Egypt are focusing on the regime in their own country and seeking to change it, through parliamentary politics, demonstrations, and the like. If they were blaming the empire for everything, they wouldn't be trying to replace the Mubarak regime.
