Well, the harm is obvious and readily acknowledged throughout society, including by leftists. The important question, however, is not whether harm is caused by "criminals" or what the harm caused by "criminals" is, because too obvious an answer cannot an important question have (yoda). I mean, why would anybody on this list spend time talking about how much the murder of a poor man by another poor man hurts the relatives of the murdered poor man?

The important question is why does the harm occur, who is responsible for that harm, and how can the infliction of that harm be stopped. Your answers to those questions are what are not shared by many leftists, myself included. You believe that the harm occurs because certain people are inherently evil; you believe evildoers (or "thugs" in your parlance) are responsible for the harm; and you apparently believe erradicating the evildoers by killing them en masse will stop the future infliction of the harm. You share these beliefs with fascists. Leftists have other, more rational and thoughtful, ideas about the answers to these questions.
