Another thing that will be missed in the annoying "national discussion" that will soon unfold, is that this was an isolated, atypical tragedy. People who have ideas about guns will use this incident to justify their positions, pro and con. The media will make millions on this story, just in time because the "Imus is out on his crass" story is getting stale. But campus massacres just don't happen. They happen so rarely that most of us can name the few incidents that have happened in the past, such as the Montreal massacre and the University of Texas-Austin tower shootings.

Let's put this in perspective: it's an isolated, unfortunate tragedy.
