Not at all. The overwhelming support of students for the Vietnam War was obvious to anyone who looked at more than headlines. The support, of course, as at present, was merely at the level of passive opinion. The small minority of us who were against the war simply managed to make a hell of a lot of noise. There never was a very large hunk of people who opposed the war for what most of us would regard as the right reason. They just got tired of the casualties in Vietnam and the racket at home.
