I'm sure a fan of WS. A rabid one at that. The best comedy ever written, well at least before the farrelly brothers. But I go back and forth, on whether the bardolatry is justified. His work is regarded as such a singular point of brilliance, sometimes seems a bit much to me. But then again, nobody else ever wrote a character like Falstaff.

I go to productions of his plays whenever possible, which has been pretty rare for me the last few years in places like nevada and ohio. But back when I lived in va, there's a big replica of the blackfriars playhouse in a small mountain town in the west of the state, which is always showing a few of the plays at once. WS proudctions are certainly attended by a mostly dutifully stuffed-shirt crowd that does not seem to really relish the joy of the work. I used to make a point of always wearing my punkest getup to the show. Also at the virginia blackfriars playhouse, they serve beer. Getting trashed at a production of the comedy of errrors in the appalacian mountains is one of the best dates I've ever taken anyone on, might I boast.
