How about putting it a different way: not voting indeed means nothing -- it's the null hypothesis, so to speak. It's voting (for a Democrat) that means something -- and what it means is something bad. It supplies one more tiny increment of the energy that the whole apparatus of delusion and self-defeat needs in order to keep operating.

Not voting is not a statement; it's just a sane person's abstention from collective lunacy.
