TOKYO, Aug 7 (Reuters) - Japan needs faster productivity growth to sustain its economy as the population declines, the government said in an annual economic report issued on Tuesday.
To do this, Japanese companies should upgrade the skills of their employees and improve the use of information technology, the government said in the report. "The biggest challenge for the Japanese economy is to sustain economic growth amid a shrinking population, a condition we have never experienced," Economics Minister Hiroko Ota wrote in her preface to the report."The key to this issue is raising productivity." http://www.reuters.com/article/companyNewsAndPR/idUST30901620070807?sp=true
