If I did not respect and welcome others' and (in particular) your 
different understanding of these matters, I would not post here in 
hopes of receiving critical replies. So thank you for the response, 
but I can only respond  intermittently (it's a picnic day and I'm out 
the door) and the quote I have in mind from the first Volume I (I 
think it's in chapter on rate and mass of surplus value) I can't 
immediately find.
