But....recalling Le Barbier, it seems clear that Figaro is at least as old as Almaviva, and both are significantly older than Rosina--who, from the disguise scene in Les Noces, is not necessarily any older than Suzanne. But all of them are still very young in Les Noces.
One thing that I have always found intriguing is Beaumarchais's view of marriage--Almaviva has already fallen out of love with Rosina, and they haven't even been married long enough to produce a single child!
