I asked Barbara Boxer at a speech in Marin County two years ago what sources of news and opinion she read.  She had to think a minute, then said "the Wall St Journal, the LA Times, and uh, our own wonderful paper, the Marin Independent Journal."  Since the speech was about war policy and issues, I was thinking maybe she read Juan Cole, or CommonDreams or even The Nation.  Nope.  Nothing,

   

  I decided Senators dont inquire beyond what the party leaders tell them.  That way they have lots of time to read all the bills they vote on.

penalty of perjury that they have read a law in its entirity & understand the issues 
before they are allowed to vote. I never heard back from her.
